  1. My wife and I have been using Tom’s of Maine adult toothpaste for almost a year now and have been pleased with the results. No cavities. I admit that it took me about a week or so to get used to the new flavor, having switched over from normal, Colgate, Crest, Mentadent, etc. However, we really like the fact that it uses natural ingredients and that it does not contain artificial sweeteners, like saccharin. We did try to get our children to use ours as well. Unfortunately, they gagged each time we brushed their teeth because of the taste so we stuck with Crest for kids toothpaste. Until that is, we discovered the Tom’s of Maine strawberry flavored toothpaste for kids.

Since the Amazon product is an expensive 6 pack, we decided to buy a single tube from a local retailer to give it a try first. Our kids were excited to try out new toothpaste and more importantly, enjoyed the flavor without gagging! Sold! I don’t know why the big toothpaste companies can’t make toothpaste without saccharin. Until they do, we are a Tom’s of Maine toothpaste household, even at the sometimes premium pice.

  2. I tried the regular Tom’s once and did not like it so I didn’t think about getting this for my daughter until I read the other reviews and gave it a try. My daughter loves this. She had her heart set on princess toothpaste after her tube was gone so I thought she’d be upset, but she tells me how much she likes it every time she brushes her teeth.

  3. I bought this for my kids 14,7,6 they all say it’s gross and now I’m stuck with a whole case of it!! I tried it and it is very bland, wouldn’t recommend or buy again…………

  4. Tom’s of Maine Silly Strawberry toothpaste is the only toothpaste my kids will use. The taste of the toothpaste is very bland, with a slight strawberry flavor. My kids object to the strong flavors of almost all other toothpastes; but they’ll use Tom’s of Maine, because of its milder flavor.

The flavor is more bland than I like for myself, and if your kids like strong flavors they may find it too bland as well. But if your kids object to strongly-flavored toothpastes, like mine do, then this brand is great.

  5. My wife and I are not ‘Fluoride is the Devil’ kind of people, but we switched to Tom’s natural, fluoride-free tootpaste several years ago (and still have all of our teeth, or at least as many as we had when we switched). For my children, we alternate between the fluoride and fluoride-free versions of Silly Strawberry. My son is 7, and my daughter is 6; they both enjoy brushing their teeth (on their own in the morning and at lunch, then parent-assisted in the evening). The enjoyment has alot to do with Tom’s quality of toothpaste, and I recommend their toothpastes to everyone.
