1. I ordered the wrong handle, and not until after I received it did I notice that it is considered a “hygene” item and cannot be returned. So I have wasted $14.00. I just assumed that all Braun handles fit any Braun charging unit. Duh.

2. The handle doesn’t fit any of the power units we have, too bad. I hope to get a power unit some where.

3. I received the power handle in a clear plastic case with absolutely NO paperwork whatsoever, not even a shipping document which I thought was strange. I contacted the vendor and he said he offers a 90 day warranty and said it is shipped directly from Braun. I contaced Braun and they indicated that had it been purchased directly from Braun they provide a 1 year warranty on the handle. My only concern is that the original handle I replaced was dated Feb 2006 and this “new” replacement handle is dated 1 year earler …Jan 2005! So far it works fine, although one difference is that on my original handle, the “blue” light used to flash while charging and go solid when fully charged. When charging this replacement handle, the blue light stays on the whole time so I have to remember to unplug it about 18+ hours later as I only use the charger when it runs completely down.

   Note: I’m giving this only 3 stars as I really feel there should have been some kind of billing paperwork as well as some note that indicates what the warranty is on the product. I also believe the vendor should be providing the same warranty period as Braun does if it’s shipped directly from Braun.

4. Came exactly as advertised and works like the original we had
   
   Shipping was prompt (at about 4 business days to So Cal) and the product well wrapped to endure the mailing process.
   
   A few months in we are most pleased with our purchase

5. I purchased the Braun 7040-091 tooth brush to replace one of our Braun rechargeable toothbrushes that had failed. This one sounds different than my old one and our other rechargeable Braun. It has a little higher pitch hum, but is not as loud as the older ones. It also seems to operate at a higher speed on the high setting.
   
   I like it and am glad that I bought it. Time will tell if the unit will fail as my previous Braun. My previous Braun worked fine for about five (5) years. I disassembled it to see if I could determine the cause of failure and concluded that the seal keeping moisture (toothpaste, water and saliva) from entering the battery area had eventually failed. I am now storing the power handle with the tip(metal silver part) down, after brushing, to see if that will extend the life of the power handle. Check with me in another five (5) years.
