Some of the meds I use to help with the COPD that I live with make for extreme dryness in my mouth. I always have to have something with me to drink and when that’s not possible, I can use this spray. It really works and I plan to order more.

Can’t live without this product. I had major surgery and had one of my salivary glands removed. I use this product on a daily basis to keep my mouth moist. I tried the mint at one time, but did not like the taste. This is the one I prefer.

I have suffered from dry mouth for decades. During the day I deal with it by chewing sugarless gum or drinking tea, but it’s been much harder to find an effective way of relieving it at night. This means waking up every few hours with a parched mouth and a tongue that feels like shoe leather. Drinking water helps for maybe fifteen seconds. I’ve tried taping my mouth shut, which is better than nothing but leads to problems of its own, since my sinuses tend to swell up during sleep. Recently, several dry-mouth-relieving products have appeared, and I’ve tried many. Some, like Thayer’s several sprays, were only immediately effective and I never bought them again. Then I tried spraying my mouth with several spritzes of Oasis Moisturing Mouthwash. This worked, but it also meant that I was inadvertently drinking a bottle of mouthwash a month(!!), spray by spray. I resisted trying this Biotène product because of the cost, but I finally gave in — my taste buds were threatening me with physical violence. It is the most effective product I’ve used, and I like the fact that the flavor is light; it doesn’t seem to work by sucker-punching the saliva glands, the way the Oasis mouthwash did. The Biotène people say it works for up to two hours, which may be so: I’m definitely getting more sleep. I still don’t like the price, especially since the 45mL sprayer lasts for only two weeks. That’s the only reason I don’t give it five stars.
