The Sonic Tooth Brush Reviewed – Electric Toothbrush Tips

If you’ve been considering an electric toothbrush, you’ve probably looked at various brands for the Sonicare Elite Toothbrush sometimes referred to as the Sonic Tooth Brush or Sonic Care Tooth Brush. Yet, the price can be a turnoff.

As someone who has had a history of cavities, root canals and periodontal disease, it has been very helpful in controlling my dental problems. However if you have a good family history of dental checkups it may not be a necessity. I am relieved that my checkups are much shorter since using the sonic tooth brush and I find that the build up of plaque is less. It will not replace flossing and I have found using the original dental tape by Glide helpful as it is thicker than some of the thinner floss on the market now.

The Sonicare Elite is a new kid on the block and it isn’t always easy to know the difference between the various models such as the 7300. 7500 and 7800 toothbrushes. The 7800 allows you to change the pre-programmed 2 minute brushing time to 2 1/2 minutes which may be useful for some. It also comes with a wall mount kit. In addition there is a dual speed control . The 7500 doesn’t have the timer change option and the 7300 does not have the above features but is a fine toothbrush.

Because I travel frequently I am pleased that the battery lasts longer than original model because I don’t like to travel with a charger. I find it will last around two weeks. I also like that there is a slimmer head and that the angled brush enables me to get comfortably to the back teeth. Most people neglect the molar areas but this is where many have problems with pockets due to inadequate cleaning techniques. It is also important to replace the head every six months and I find that after six months the cleanings are not as good if you do not.

My only criticism is that if you don’t unscrew and clean out the brush of the sonic tooth brush it will get dirty on the inside. In terms of bacteria I think that is important to do and it does not seem as watertight as it could be. However, this inconvenience far outweights the benefits as I’ve always dreaded my dental cleanings and if I can prevent future root canals or cavities it is a great financial savings.

Modern Ways to Achieve the Perfect Smile

Everyone desires to have a great smile. For a killer smile, one should have sparkling, bright, and shiny teeth.

Today, a lot of people are spending more money just to have their teeth whiter. They make use of the best teeth whitening treatments and undergo procedures to achieve the brilliant white teeth.

Teeth whitening had been an effective procedure to lighten the color of the teeth, without taking away any of the tooth surface. It will not completely whiten the whole set of teeth; it will just lighten the existing color of the teeth.

Only a few are blessed with pearly white teeth, and our teeth normally become discolored as we grow up.

Our teeth can also be stained on the outer part because of the food and drink. Coffee, tea, blackcurrant and red wine have effect on the discoloration of our teeth. Smoking is another cause of teeth discoloration. Most people may encounter staining beneath the surface which is caused by tiny cracks in the teeth or certain antibiotics that absorb the stains.

But what are these teeth whitening treatments and procedures? And are these done?

Bleaching. This is most common form of teeth whitening procedure. Your dentist will advice you if this is the best teeth whitening treatment suitable for you.

Bleaching is done by placing a gel or rubber to shield the soft tissue of your gums. Then, the whitening product will be applied on your teeth by using a special tray which shapes into your mouth like a gum shell.

The teeth whitening product usually contains carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide as the ‘active ingredients’. When these ingredients break down, the oxygen enters the enamel of your teeth thus, making the color lighter. The entire treatment can be completed in three to four weeks time.

For those who wish to undergo to this treatment, you will need at least three visits to the dentist. On your first visit, the dentist will create a mouth-guard and take a caricature or impressions of it. Once the treatment has started, it is recommended that you continue it at home. You have to regularly apply the teeth whitening product over four weeks, for at least 30 minutes at a time.

Most of the known and best teeth whitening products can be applied for up to several hours at a time. The treatment can be done even while you’re sleeping. Ideally, a good result can be attained in as little as one week.

Laser Whitening. This is also called the “power whitening”. Though expensive, a lot of people especially artists consider it as the best teeth whitening method.

During this process, a rubber dam is placed over your teeth to shield the gums, and the whitening product is then painted on your teeth. A laser will be used to stimulate the chemical. The light will help boost the chemical reaction of the bleaching product, thus the color change can be attained more rapidly.

Dentists believe that the result of laser whitening treatment is good. It can make your teeth up to six shades lighter.

Unfortunately, not everyone can get a chance to undergo laser treatment. The dentist will have to check your teeth and ensure that you are fit for the treatment. The total procedure is usually done in an hour.

The effects of this power whitening is said to last up to three years depending on the person. The dentist still advice not to smoke, eat and drink products that may cause a stain in your teeth. Others may find their teeth vulnerable to cold after the treatment. But these symptoms usually vanish within a few days.

These are just two of the famous and best teeth whitening methods available. Despite the fact that they may cost a lot, the effect is still worth it. Through these methods, you’ll surely flash everyone a perfect smile.

Teeth Whitening Treatments: Are they really safe?

Teeth whitening treatment is the best choice for people with low level of confidence yet who wish to make their smile perfect. But still many people are unconvinced with the outcome of this method. People think that risks of undertaking teeth whitening are more important than its benefits. But somewhat it is not totally right.

Let as look at some of the possible risks that might arise after undergoing teeth whitening and how to prevent this or overcome them when it happens again.

In Colorado, teeth whitening involve application of bleach solution to whiten the teeth. People who have extreme sensitivity or gum diseases might not suitable to undergo teeth whitening. First, their gums should be treated. When gums are in good condition, they can now decide for teeth whitening. Health experts do not recommend bleaching products that contains 3% bleach. Bleach product with only 0.1% are acceptable which might entail human intake. Teeth that are exposed on bleaching product for a longer time will cause severe damage to teeth. It is still recommended to undergo teeth whitening under the direction of an authorized dentist.

It is unsafe to undergo teeth whitening for people who used drink or smoke a lot. People will be more susceptible to harmful result of alcohol when high intake of hydrogen peroxide is made. Pregnant and lactating women should also avoid these bleaching products for the safety of their infants.

People with sensitive teeth might use medicated toothpaste and have a soft bristle toothbrush after going through in teeth whitening to minimize the irritation and pain. But after several days, the pain will just ease. It is still vital to check with a dentist before deciding through teeth whitening process. There are no other bad effects of teeth whitening aside from the above mentioned problems.

Now if you want to have teeth whitening done at your home, below are some tips you should consider before going into it.

A conventional plastic tray is used to easily fit into the mouth to put on the chemical inside. This is used in in-house teeth whitening and be careful in applying it to avoid some damage to your gums. Bleaching gel is applied into tray and the person wears it in mouth regularly for consecutive weeks. It takes for 3 to 4 weeks before the effect of teeth whitening appears.

Though it is very simple to perform this and it is equally effective as a dentist way of doing a teeth whitening procedure, but remember that the whole process is being done by your own without the advice of a dentist. Be prepared to any risk or problem that may occur when doing this.

To prevent some problems and avoid damage to your gums, read the instructions carefully. Know all the ingredients of the bleaching product that you apply in your teeth. Also be careful in applying the right amount of whitening that is being taken by your teeth. To have an effective result, keep on using the specially made tray to prolong the effect for at least a couple of months. It is then very essential to observe the health condition of your teeth and gums. If the tray will cause the swelling or bleeding of gums or irritation, consult the dentist immediately.

Home teeth whitening are more economical but it is still recommended to have it in authorized dentist like in Colorado teeth whitening clinic.
